The Brief:
Batch-manufacture of 6 fully functional, identical vessels;
Have either a lid, a hinge, a handle or all three;
Have one significant moulded/cast component, created using a multi-part mould;
Have a digitally manufactured component as part of each vessel or part of the mould.

The Future of Gardening
There is a level of intimacy developed between a gardener and their crops, and fostering this connection was something I aimed to drive through my design.
A connection is developed throughout the process of nurturing - and watching the microgreens grow and transform. I aimed to deepen levels of connection and anticipation between the gardener and their crop by mimicking growth and transformation within the form of my vessel.
As a result of microgreens' easy-to-grow and adaptive nature, they have been noted as the ‘gardening of the future.’ The form and aesthetic of Pod - intends to spark the imagination surrounding a conceptual possibility of gardening in the future.
